Some obvious inclusions and some odd ones (Tom Colicchio?). I've tried to link to the list rather than the godawful slideshow. Many are there, as the accompanying article states, because of their job rather than who they are.

The CEO of Instagram being on the list makes me sad.

Jose Andres on the list surprises me.

Well, Tom Colicchio has been very active regarding hunger in the United States, including being the executive producer of the documentary "A Place At the Table".

So I don't find him any different from Mario Batali/Joe Bastianich or Bob Tuschman from the Food Network being on the list, or a group of people at Google. As you said, it's their job that makes them influential, not themselves.
