Chez Shea tumblr blog

A friend of mine has been having international cuisine nights on Sundays to introduce her children to other foods and cultures than what suburban NJ generally has to offer. . She picks a country, makes an appropriate menu, plays regional music and shows a related movie. She is now documenting the experience on tumblr. Check it out!

  1. What a fun and worthwhile family project. Inspiring even. Thanks for sharing it.

I live in NJ too and agree that food is one way to be transported to other worlds. How fantastic that this parent is enriching her life and those she cares about.

Also the blog lists one of my favorite quotes:

"残り物には福がある。 (Nokorimono ni wa fuku ga aru) Literally: Luck exists in the leftovers."— Japanese Wisdom (This means: There is luck in the last helping.)

    1. Call me VERY impressed. And I love that the kids are (mostly) trying everything put in front of them when it comes to the food. Good for mom!

      1. This is an insanely great effort. I admire her for doing this.
