Steamers @ Tokyo Fish Market, Berkeley

On Friday, TFM had live, wild softshell clams from the East Coast for $7.99/lb (small-medium). I've never seen them live on the West Coast except for large ones we dug up in Oregon. I cooked them yesterday, and they were sweet and tender (and every one opened). Definitely worthwhile if you're a steamers fanatic like me.

  1. Thanks for the tip. I used to bring them back with me when I returned from business trips to the Boston area, but the TSA has put the kibosh on that.
