I am looking for a fun place for dinner for my daughters 18th birthday. Within 1 hour of Chelmsford, MA.

    I would suggest the following:

-Kings Bowling at the new Marketplace Mall in Lynnfield. Upscale bowling with a large restaurant/bar. They have an area where you can reserve lanes for a party and they have a bocce court too.

-The Yard House also at the Marketplace Mall. Huge sports bar with over 140 beers on tap but even your party is not old enough to drink the food and atmosphere might be fun fora group.

-If they are a bit adventurous when it comes to food the Dim Sum experience at China Star in Lowell might be good too. True Hong Kong style place with ladies pushing carts around the room with all types of dim sum. You just select what you like ot what looks good. Some of the offerings can be a bit strange (chicken feet) but there are many other choices too.

Are you looking for a place for a large group/party, or somewhere fun for a family dinner?

Lots of good recommendations here already (esp. places with bowling) but if it's for a big group, I'd add Kowloon in Saugus -- they always treat birthdays well.
