Romantic dining - Le Colonial vs North Pond (or something else?)

Looking for a restaurant recommendation here… I have reservations at both places for tomorrow nite and need to pick one.

Occasion - Special date night. Focus is more on ambience and setting than food this time. Otherwise North Pond, Goosefoot or Everest would have been my obvious choices. But I am looking for something something really romantic (candlelight, cozy, private and slowwww dinner). Planning to have roses and champagne waiting for her at the table when we arrive… so a restaurant that can accommodate these small requests would be great.

I only thought of Le Colonial bcos their terrace setup seemed to provide the right kind of ambience. But if North Pond is similar or better, I am okay with that too.

Looking to keep under $150-200…. until she says 'Yes' ;) Maybe then Everest.

Much appreciate the help!!

Rick

I plan to leave a bouquet of roses at the table before so its there when we arrive

What you are trying to do for your date is very nice, but please please do not book reservations at multiple restaurants for the same evening with the intention of only dining at one. That is very unfair to the restaurant and also unfair to other potential patrons.

A similar thread on North Pond is active. Maybe it will be helpful. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/960295
