Hoping to get a BDay cake for my 19th bday, not really a fan of the super market cakes, too sweet for me, but dont want to spend more that $50 (at the most). Dont need a big one, not for more than 12 or so people, Let me know if you know of a good place or an inexpensive but good cake.

Costco's cakes are very good if you are a member. Not knowing where you are makes it hard to respond, but if you are in the 4 Corners area of Silver Spring, you will not get a better cake than you can get from Woodmoor Bakery.

Matt, since you are not crazy about sweet cakes, you might like the Korean bakeries. Shilla makes some very attractive cakes and they tend to be a good bit less sweet than American cakes. They also have individual portion sizes for many of their cakes so you can try something to see if it it meets your preferences.

Yes if you have a membership to Costco their cakes are amazing. The chocolate cake is probably my favorite.

        Firehook also makes great cakes.

If you want something a little fancier than Costco, I love the cakes from Alexandria Pastry Shop in Bradlee Center. Not overly sweet, IMO.

Grassroots bakery in Bloomingdale is fantastic, and according to their website, it is $50 for a cake that serves 12-15!

Try the Asian markets, Super H Mart and the like. Delicious
not too sweet cakes, at a nice price point.
