Chili in Phoenix?

Any of you chowhounds know where to go to get a good bowl of chili in Phoenix? I'm jonesing for some, lookin' for a fix...

I have not tried it myself but my son told me he had the best chili ever at Wild Horse West which is out by Lake Pleasant,right off the Carefree Hwy and Lake Pleasant Blvd.it used to be right on the road but they have redone the road so you kind of have to look for it,it's on the south east corner back off the road.They also have a good burger.

The Garage on Bethany Home Rd & 16th St; green chili at La Salsita on Camelback & 11? Ave?; The Skybox in Glendale/Peoria(?).

That would be the Fry Bread House, on 7th Ave just north of Indian School. It hides pretty well; the building itself is set off the road, so look for the sign on the west side of the street. The fry bread is certainly not to be missed, and you can get a bowl of deeeeeelicious red chili and a frybread for (I think) six bucks.

Thanks. I've been there before, but didn't notice the chili. I'll try it. Still, I was expecting more recommendations from my fellow Chowhounds. Where the dogs at?

Will post a terrific recipe IF you're game to cook. (I don't know a good spot because we eat this at home.)

Thanks for the offer, but I'm more of a fresser than a cooker. Golly, is Phoenix that bad for chili that a hound has to make his own?

I'm like somebody's old Aunt Gertrude and prefer to make something myself when it is easier, better and cheaper for me to do so.

Well, I'd love it if you posted your recipe, or email it to me if you don't want to post it here. I love to dine out, but I also like to dine in. And chili is a wonderful thing the next day (and the day after)!
