Vail, Denver, and Boulder experiences

Hello all!! This is just a review/rant about the difference a good waiter can make in a meal, and some places I tried and the experiences I had....
First off, the Vail crap. I was in Vail a couple weekends about a month ago, and had two *terrible* meals, but for different reasons. The Red Lion for dinner...my meal(and several other people's at the table) was cold when it came out-it wasn't supposed to be :-) -and their drinks are $$, even for Vail.
We tried Blu for a late breakfast the next day, and they just totally ignored us(six people) for a good twenty minutes until we asked for a waiter. The service got worse from that point, but the food was good(ohh, with one qualification. A girl that had the French Onion soup said it was gravy with melted cheese).
Does anyone know of a place in Vail where the waiters/waitresses are somewhat pleasant(maybe even helpful)? Every time I've gone into a restaraunt in Vail I feel like I'm imposing on their time.
In total contrast, I ate at Busara in LoDo and had one of the greatest eating experiences. The waiter was friendly, the timing of the appetizers(an amazing sampler plate, I think it was the Blue Crystal or something) and dinner was perfect(we were lingering over the appetizer so the waiter did no put in the entree order until he saw we were close; and told us :-), and the dinners were excellent. Pasau(sp?) was spicy w/o drowning the flavors, and the glass noodle dish was good. Only had one bite of the glass noodles.
For some quick BBQ in Boulder, KT's(on Arapahoe and 75, another downtown across from the hospital) is excellent.
