Cafe San Marcos (Santa Fe Area)
- Rachel Lee
Anyone familiar with this place on the Turquoise trail?
We went there last summer and really enjoyed it. It's a combination feed store and restaurant. You feel like you're eating in someone's home, albeit a home with windows facing peacocks, pea hens, and turkeys. Also, call ahead as they seem to be pretty strict about closing times. We enjoyed the food, your basic burritos / Santa Fe-type cuisine.
If you're going out that way, check out Rancho de las Golandrinas, about 15 minutes away. It's a living museum and a fascinating peek into the area's past.
My information is not very current but from the other posting it sounds like things haven't changed much. I do remember that the desserts were really worth saving room for! It's a comfortable setting with good food. Give it a try.
Great cinnamon rolls! Good breakfasts. Very crowded on weekend mornings. Tom and Sue own the place and are really nice people. Tom's Chief of Turquoise Trail Volunteer Fire Department.
