Utah liquor laws
What's the deal on Utah liquor laws-statewide or county option? How strict is enforcement?
One can't drink in a bar without ordering food. Hard to order wine by the glass, but OK to BYOB (with stiff corkage fees). Doesn't the bottle rule encourage consumption? Waiter can't serve a 2nd drink until the 1st is completely finished.
What are they going to do with the hordes of Europeans coming in for the Olympics?

Eat, drink and be merry as tomorrow you may be in Utah is our motto as we travel across the west. Their statewide blue laws are enforced rigorously, and you will not be able to bend them as they are enforced upon the restaurant itself and the workers therein. Most people I know forced down in Utah carry their own libations into the state and set up their own party in their condo or room, then proceed on to dinner. And enjoy your one coctail, but do not try to get a double! That's out too! One coctail at a time would be ok but trouble is, try to get SERVICE to get another. I truly believe drinking is frowned upon in Utah!

A US Court of Appeals ruled on 7/24 that Utah's wine and liquor advertising ban was unconstitutional.
