God help you in Mesa, my friend! Don't plan to stay long enough for a real dinner, Mexican or not. In 70 years in Arizona, I went THROUGH but never TO Mesa, for a thousand reasons. FOWLER

One restaurant we like to go to in Mesa is called the Euro Cafe. They have a great menu. If you can't find something to eat in it, then you aren't hungry.

    2. Stephen - does it have to actually be IN Mesa? Will you have a car or transportation to go to Phoenix or Scottsdale? That would be your best bet. There are a number of good places outside of Mesa, but nothing I can think of actually IN Mesa. Reply to my email address, and I'll give you a number of places to try in the area.

Adlai: PLEASE reply to all of us! You know the drill: Email helps one chowhound, posting helps the pack! Thanks. pat

OOPS! Pat, you're absolutely right. I sent Stephen a list of a few good places outside of Mesa, but I didn't save it. Hopefully, he'll see this and post what I sent him. Stephen, can you do that???? I'll do better next time, I promise.

      2. Actually, this is easy and I'm sorry that I didn't reply sooner -- hope it's not too late.

Go to the Blue Adobe on Country Club Road in Mesa. New Mexican style mexican and very, very good. Very reasonable and very pretty as well. Beer and wine only is the only drawback, so no margaritas.

If you want higher end Italian, try Brunello's on Dobson Road. Not cheap, but I think you will not feel ripped off. Ask for a seat by the lake.
