I'm always looking for a tasty breakfast burrito.

A breakfast burrito I can count on.

That will be there when I need it most.

Today, for the 7th time, I was, once again, in breakfast burrito heaven.

To think I had always driven past you Tacos Mexico on Van Nuys Blvd.

I am in love with your chorizo. Spicy, but not too greasy. I like mine chorizo, egg, and cheese with a smattering of onion and cilantro and salsa verde. NO RICE OR BEANS NECESSARY for this adventure.

I have the same adverse reaction to putting rice and beans on this masterpiece just the same way folks get crazy and put coleslaw on Langer's perfect pastrami. But I digress...

Let these guys help you get your breakfast burrito fix.

WOW. 40 locations in three states. Funny that this one doesn't look like it's part of a franchise. Still, a solid burrito!

I found them in the "locations" part of the website...you just have to scroll down the page a ways (it's right after one on Long Beach Blvd. in South Gate).

    2. Does it have to be Mexican? Tommy's makes the best breakfast burrito I've had yet.

Probably chili, American cheese, fried eggs, french fries, and the hamburger meat minced up and rolled up and folded into a gargantuan flour tortilla.

          Is that close ????????

          1. re: kevin

Close but, no cigar. IIRC, they have sausage and hash brown

Pray tell, what's in that sucker, gordo ????

      1. Moorpark Country Club has THE BEST breakfast burrito I've ever had. I get it every time I go out there to golf. They add chili in the burrito which makes it different from your normal breakfast burritos.

        1. The chorizo, potato and egg at Tacos Delta in Silver Lake is pretty killer.

            1. This http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/3993... breakfast burrito thread stretches from 2007 right through late 2013 (in case you never saw it before).

I hope I can get over to try this place (or one of it's other locations - assuming they have the same chorizo burrito as the Van Nuys location) as I am an absolute sucker for chorizo breakfast burritos. I like mine with same ingredients you listed above (and without beans or rice or even potato), with the addition of avocado.

                  Forgot to post. Attractive, huh?

                2. Anyone remember the name of the hole in the wall place that Anthony Bourdain featured with the killer breakfast burritos?? I can see it, tiny little spot, but cannot remember what it's called and where it is, thanks!

Yes, that is it! When I read the name, I thought, no I recall a different name, but looking at the pics on the link, with the red screen door, that's the one I was thinking of. Thanks for finding it, I really want to give them a try.

Any 'hounds got a review for tacos villa corona?

                        1. re: ns1

I live right around the corner in Atwater Village [not Silverlake anymore]. I began eating their breakfast burrito years before Bourdain showed up. Really loved them, ate them almost evey weekend, then got tired of them and stayed away.

There are several iterations of the burrito but I eat only only one: the Papas Burrito with Bacon ... potatoes and bacon. I haven't wanted to try anything else on the menu.

The place is small. Only one customer can fit inside at a time, therefore there are dozens of people standing around on the street, sitting on the curb or in their cars all the time.

I still go back to Tacos Delta for the Chilaquiles and the occasional burrito ... and I'm still looking for the BEST Breakfast Burrito.

                          Best in LA:

Isn't villa coronas' claim to fame the potato taco ??????

Don't know. The win top Breakfast Burrito often … and they have Potato Nachos.
