Looking for a dining partner?

  • 6

I will be in Rome until the end of the month, and would like to know if anyone out there would be interested in a dining companion.

Please note: I'm not asking you (or offering!) to foot the bill. I just feel more comfortable dining in nicer establishments when I'm with someone else (and that also broadens our wine options!).

Of course, I love regular trattorias and the like, so if you'd prefer to keep things a little less extravagant, that works too.

I promise I can hold up my end of the conversation in English or French, though less well in Spanish and only pitiably in Italian (though I'm working on it).

Is this crazy?

  1. Not crazy at all. The last time I was in Rome, I had dinner with another CH'r, also traveling solo. We had a great time! Good luck.

Thanks for the optimism! Here's hoping I get more than radio silence... (though admittedly, January is decidedly off-peak!).

Agree. Not crazy at all! It's fun travelling and having solo dinners but also nice to meet new people and have some interesting conversations. It doesn't hurt that you can order and try more food too.

We would have met up but we are not there until February 10th. Good luck on finding a dining partner!

    2. Not at all, my friends don't like to eat out as much as I do so I'm always looking for dining partner s.. unfortunately I'm on my way out of town for a few weeks. If you are back in Rome, definitely post a note

      1. Have you checked out the Home Food calendar? You still have opportunities to book a meal in Rome in January.

        1. It's not crazy. It's a great idea. I wish I had thought to do this when I traveled alone in the past. Well, that was before the internet so I don't know how I would have found another willing dining companion. Good luck with your search!
