Scaramouche will probably update their Lobsterlicious offerings a few times over the course of Lobsterlicious, which usually runs for at least 4 weeks.

Look fwd to reading the 2014 reports.

I had the kouign amann just before Christmas (with Hidden Rose apples instead) and it was lovely.

A city without readily and easily available Kouign Amann, is a city needing to give it's collective head a good shake. Common bakery masters, help us out.

Why not bake your own? Mrs fD is making me some today. She already baked some cheese Gougère this morning!

Does anyone know if they also offer their regular menu during lobsterlicious? And if so, is the experience during lobsterlicious the same as always, or is it a rushed experience like winterlicious? In other words, should I go to eat from the regular menu during lobsterlicious or go another time?

They offer both menus, and do not rush the people who order Lobsterlicious. I've found the service to be fine during Lobsterlicious. First course and second course portions are smaller than a la carte first and second course portions, as I'd expect if I'm paying less for a 3 course prix fixe than the sum of la carte parts. Usually the dessert portions seem to be the standard size, in my experience. It's not a bargain, but it's a nice way to have a 3 course meal at Scaramouche for $65, before tax, tip and drinks

IIRC, Lobsterlicious isn't offered on Fridays or Saturdays.

Lobsterlicious a way to keep Scaramouche filled in Feb and March on generally less busy weeknights.

Thanks for the info. prima. Just booked my birthday dinner there. Limited choices when you are avoiding winterlicious.

You're right about them not offering it Friday, at least. We went two weeks ago on a Friday after reading about it here, and were somewhat disappointed not to be able to order it. I'm sure it says it on their website, but if someone's going to go based on reading about it here (as we did) I just wanted to re-emphasize what you noted about the availability. The regular menu was still delicious, though, so we were definitely still happy.

                  What did you get Strongbad?

              Dean,

How often does Scaramouche offer this promotion? I'm already booked for Feb but would love to try this! Do you know if they generally offer this again later in the year?

Gastroworld, currently it runs to Feb 6. Only once a year, in Jan-Feb. New this year, I think, is that it only runs Mon to Thurs. I went last weekend, and ordered my own version: the soup of the day happened to be lobster bisque (an old fave of mine at Scaramouche) at $20 so I ordered it, followed by a lobster appetizer at $25. So I got all the lobster I needed, but of course, I could have ordered another lobster appetizer.

Thanks Dean for the info! Hopefully will get to try it one of these years then!
