Which restaurants from this season's list are the very best? My husband's oh-so practical strategy is to visit the most expensive restaurants on the list. My focus is more on a restaurant that is out of the ordinary - something we might not ordinarily try. Despite my username, I'll eat any food -- if it's superb of course. We're two weeks new to DC, so we have no knowledge of any of the restaurants on the list. What are your recommendations?

Captial Grill was very good when I ate there awhilde back. It is also one of the most expensive so it would meet both your lists. To start we ( table of co-workder from a doctor's office) shared an app of seafood that had everything and was wonderful. I'm not a big steak eater but I had an excellent one. It was too big for me so I took home for my spouse to share.

Last night Del Campo was fantastic. Limited menu, but menu price for what I ordered was $60, the portions were full size, and there were 3 gifts from the kitchen as well (an amuse, an extra side with my main, and petit fours). Very good food and great service.

Oval Room has historically done well for me for RW.

Many places offer no real savings over regular menu price, or essentially just a free dessert, so I often skip RW and go to an old favorite who is not participating.
