  1. Recently had the Posole at the new Gallardo's location on 18th. It was excellent. I also like the version at Puerto Allegre, but I'm not sure its one to go out of your way for.

The one that got me hooked on Posole in the first place is found at Tacqueria Cancun in Berkeley which is or was only offered a few days a month, but is worth looking out for.

In the East Bay, I've had good posole at Nido and Tacubaya.

Also in the EB, Taco Grill by Fruitvale BART does various versions (white, green, red, pork or chicken) of pozole (w/ sustainable meats).

Mijita in the SF Ferry Bldg does pozole each Wednesday; it's usually red/pork and pretty spicy.

Prather Ranch in the FB also has it randomly on the menu, including today - I may have to try it!

Also in the East Bay, La Mission on University in Berkeley does a great posole. Menudo is on the menu, but I haven't tried it.

      2. Taqueria Menudo on Mission in the Excelsior.

        1. El Casilleta Taquaria on Golden Gate Ave serves up some very good pozole. Problem is the place is a bit dingy and they rotate their soup specials without a schedule. You gotta just get lucky.

Haven't tried their menudo, but judging from the pozole I bet it is good too.

          1. Not super recent but I liked the pozole at Green Chile Kitchen a couple or three trips ago. Marcia Gaglardi of tablehopper mentioned it yesterday in 7x7: http://www.7x7.com/eat-drink/six-spic... and though not pozole or menudo, can I just mention how good that birria from Gallardo's looks in the pic?
