Ice Cream Novelties for Baby Shower
- foodseek Jan 7, 2014 12:18 PM
In search of an ice cream baby bootie which were quite popular in the 1960s-1980s for baby showers. The vanilla ice cream was in the shape of a small baby bootie with either blue or pink laces. They were sized as individual (single serving) and were a terrific shower dessert. It was not a Baskin-Robbins type novelty ice cream cake. It was similar in size to the vanilla/coconut snowball ice cream confection sold during the holidays. In the past, I was able to special order through an ice cream company which has since closed. Any hints or suggestions? Thank you so much!
You could try calling Swenson's or Mitchell's.
Carvel might make something like it, and be available at one of the supermarkets.
I would have guess Baskin-Robbins might be your best bet, honestly. Maybe Costco?
You might also be able to find a baby shoe shaped cake mold, and make your own in a pinch.
