Paso Robles Wine Tasting

foodiefine Jan 6, 2014 04:39 PM

In a couple of weeks i will be going to paso robles for the weekend. I have never been and am looking forward to experiencing all the food and wine that i can while i am there. I also am not very experienced at wine tasting and would love any recommendations that anyone with knowledge of the area could provide. Looking for overall a good experience (good wine, beautiful surroundings, NICE people)- i would like to get a good idea of what Paso Robles can offer in terms of wine tasting. I will probably make it to 4-5 wineries/vineyards. Please Help!

The drive out to the Far Out Wineries west of Paso can be stunning, if we ever get rain and it turns into an emerald green backdrop again. Still a lovely country drive taking Peachy Canyon Road out of Paso to where it hooks up to the Far Out Wineries route. http://www.faroutwineries.com/files/f...

Second this recommendation. My favorites were Halter Ranch, Tablas Creek, and Justin.

Many very good wineries west of town. Try Denner, Lone Madrone, Grey Wolf and J. Dusi. In downtown are a few small places with excellent wine, although limited releases.
For dinner try Villa Creek, Bistro Laurent, Artisan and Buona Tavola.
