Bonus points if you get the Tikka Masala from the Al Noor across the street and dip your burger/fries into it.

      2. From LAX you'll be going south on Sepulveda. In about 3 miles you'll come to a huge shopping complex with a Whole Foods and all sorts of eateries. There's a seafood grill, a vegi-grill etc, etc. check it out on Google Maps.

You're coming from NY and you're scared of Inglewood? What part of NY, Westchester county?

              1. re: Dirtywextraolives

Is lukshen coming from NY?? Doesn't say. Lucky to get out of the cold. Flossie's sounds good to me.

              2. Not sure how quick you need but if you have time for something more than just fast food, Coni's Seafood on Imperial East of Sepulveda would be a great choice foodwise, at least if you like Mexican seafood.

Somewhat quicker, there are Valentino's Pizza on Sepulveda in El Segundo just South of the airport and a few good sandwich places all within a few blocks of each other on Main Street in El Segundo: Big Mike's Philly Steaks and Subs, Havana, Original Rinaldi's.

The locations for food trucks often varies with the day so no consistent recommendation there. You can check the website Roaming Hunger for some of that day's local foodtruck locations.

if you end up going to coni'seafood, i'd recommend ordering one of the camarones dishes.
keep in mind, deliecious as it is, this is not the sort of stuff that you can eat in the car while you're driving. sit down and eat the food there.

the pescado zarandeado, imho, their piece de resistance, will require too much time to prepare to meet your time constraints.

                2. Is Flossie's to far out of the way?

Not at all. Flossie's is on Redondo Beach Blvd just a few blocks east of the 405.

Also the Marukai Market on Artesia has Ramen Menya Iroha

Honestly coming from NY, I love the taco trucks in CA. I found one on CH a few years ago. It was parked by an auto parts store. Really, really good. If I knew of a Kogi BBQ truck near the airport. I wouldn't be wasting your time. I come in next Wednesday before the restaurant opens at LAX, sigh

The Kogi Truck schedule will be up next Sunday or Monday

My LAX Tacos rec was because of your mention of taco trucks...it's like a taco truck that absorbed its wheels...

Ok, got it. Menu looks but, Inglewood? I'm not sure it is the kind of neighborhood I want to explore.

Inglewood is fine..... And you will be there in the afternoon hours, you should be fine....

Have you looked at the neighborhood? You will be 3 blocks from the 405 Freeway in a middle/working class area. https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=La...

Agree that Inglewood is perfectly fine. Randy's donuts, the famous giant donut you may have seen in movies and TV, is in that area as well. The donuts are really good. I love their chocolate cake donuts.

                                2. When I am in the Torrance area, I enjoy having lunch at Fishbonz. Good, fresh fish, simply prepared. The restaurant is spotless and easy parking.

                                  2. Just a hair north of LAX is Humble Potato, a Japanese burger bar. Good food. The curry fries are addicting.

if you end up at humble potato, be sure to have them put their yuzu jalepeno slaw on whatever it is that you order.
                                      ($1 upcharge. WELL WORTH IT)

                                    2. Gotta rep my favorite, Zam Zam market.

Don't be scared of Inglewood. It's perfectly fine. I'm white and I drive a nice car, and I wouldn't think twice about parking it on the street and getting food in that area. Done it hundreds of times. I'd be more worried just about anywhere in NYC. Lots of good places to eat in the wood

                                      1. We went to the taco truck on Arbor Vitae near Airport Rd, Mariscos el Sabroso. Fast, really good ceviche and tacos. It is a white truck w/o any signage. Made it to Torrance with time to spare. Thank you everyone.
