Skin on boneless whole pork belly - Long Island

sbp Jan 3, 2014 08:01 AM

Anyone know any place that carries? Korean supermarkets have sliced belly, D'Artagnan (online) is skin on but not boneless. I wanted to try a porchetta. Western Suffolk preferred.

Any place that will custom cut for you... most likely a small butcher shop, or somewhere like Iavarone Bros?

The Korean and Chinese markets I frequent either regularly have whole pork bellies or will gladly supply them for you however you like, since these places pretty much all butcher their meats in house.

If there's an H-Mart near you, they would certainly accommodate you.

Giunta's Meat Farms (Commack, Hauppauge, Farmingdale, Lake Ronkonkoma, Medford, Port Jeff, Bohemia) has more cuts of pork than I've seen anywhere else on LI. Worth a try.
