Asanebo question

Greetings hounds...I am considering going to Asanebo next week for the "C" omakase. Typically, I always enjoy sitting at the bar. Is there someone I should request, or would I be just as happy with whomever? Anything else you think I should know, would be welcome. Excited to try this one star experience. Thanks!

Sorry if I appear dumb, but is Shunjis one of the chefs?

      1. re: xoxohh

i could be mistaken but shunji who is a popular sushi chef in west la used to co-own it with his brother who still runs the joint...if there's any family resemblance, that's a big plus.

    2. I would say go
      To Shunjis instead.

      What's the "C" omakase ???????

From what I understand...there are 3 omakase's A-B-C. Separated by amount of food and price.....C is $160 and up, what ever "up"means.

      2. Koji or Fumi.

Even with the omakase, make sure to supplement with the chill-steamed sea bass. Life altering stuff.

        1. Mark is friendly, and he knows his fish. He's usually stationed at the end of the bar. I like Kenji too.

          1. Be sure to "sleep in" on the morning after you go there.

Because asanebo means, loosely translated, "late riser".

              1. asanebo is a personal fave and "c" is an excellent choice!
the sushi is very good but the prepared foods take the cake for me so a nice mix of the two is the only way to fly. i second the sea bass recommendation. enjoy!
