advertising on site

Dear Chowhounds Mods
I know you are finicky about postings- no tourist itinerary advice, recipes with recipes etc

How do justify having the naked babes for the "League of Angels" ad on the site?? If it's a financial choice it's embarrassing.

  1. I think you may not understand the difference between the function of the Chowhound moderators and CHOW.com itself. The mods have nothing to do with the advertising that appears on the pages - that's all the work of CHOW.com.

That said, I agree that both of the heaving-bosom-filled animated ads for "League of Angels" that I've seen have been pretty unappealing, at least to me. Perhaps the Chowhound boards have more young male readers than I might have guessed...

Thanks, I wondered if it were a separate corporate decision.

    2. I agree it's pretty obnoxious, but probably better to post on the Site Talk Board where it's more likely to get the attention of Chow.

      1. I agree, that's the last thing I expect to see on this site.

Nothing at all to do with food and just unpleasant. Those ads do not belong on Chowhound!

          1. I haven't seen that ad...sounds like I might want to! However, my understanding is that websites don't necessarily pick the actual ads that show-up, much like your local tv station doesn't know a Hardee's ad with a barely clothed Katherine Webb will air.
