I am really loving this place lately. Italian Tapas. Creative entrees. Buratta cheese.

I've been focused on their appetizer line up mostly. The pizza was quite good but it's the homemade mozz warm and ready each week and the polenta with goat cheese appy I keep returning to when I'm nearby.

I wrote about this place when they first opened. Really good!

Right, I contributed comments to that thread too. Have you been back recently, sockster?

Actually, I've been meaning to go back for dinner, but haven't yet. This said, we stopped in for lunch one day on the pizza side. They had just brought out a fresh Sicilian pie. Our slices were quite delicious.

I have been here 6 times I think. Nothing has blown me away but with the prices I didn't expect to be wowed. It's just decent food at a decent price and the portions are large. The menu is extensive as well.

Believe it or not, I think the best meal I had was their steak one night. The chef to made me a NY strip with a cognac demi glaze. They completely overcooked it but the plate had enough juice to kind of compensate. His name is Domenic and he is a real cool guy. I talk to him when I go in and he hits some of the same restaurants I do when he is not in the kitchen. I asked him to make me a nice steak of his choice and this is what he came up with.

anyone have the lobster special? I think its only 10.99 on monday and/or tuesday.

Their pachari pasta dish is quite excellent, as is their fresh mozzarella.

yes the moz is good stuff!

The scallops wrapped in bacon are tasty. They actually come out with some crispy bacon which is spot on.

I wasnt impressed with the antipasti though.

Oh and the crab cake is awesome for ten bucks. They have it on special once in a while.

I concur with Corvette Johnny on this one. Been there twice and was not blown away either time. Good food, decent prices, large portions (most entrees enough for two people), and a large menu to accomodate all tastes. Responsible owner/manager, which always helps to build goodwill with his customers. I think they are off to a good start to stay in business in a location/bldg that has turned over many times over the years.

Sort of reminds me of the opinion I have of Gardenia Grill in Hazlet. Each time the food was okay, nice clean place and the owner couldn't be nicer but I still prefer Ibby's in Freehold..

I'll stand by Prosecco pizza until someone else can do traditional NY any better. Its the best I have had in decades.
Garlic knots and that marinara, I can't stop eating them!!!
