            Hi, SUYR:

This has been a typical CH welcome, better get used to it.

But since you're new, Welcome and Happy 2014. May you never sink to my level!

SUYR, I was deleted the 1st time I commented on CH and now look at me :)

It's a tough love gang 'round here. And it's awesome.

Sometimes it takes something as coarse as sandpaper to make things smooth - my definition of tough love.

Hard to remember how it felt that far back but I think of it now and laugh...hard.

You WERE????? God, I'm embarrassed when I look at my early posts. I'm surprised I didn't get slapped about for asking about dim sum in NYC :)

I will encourage OP to stick to things like Home Cooking for a while. It is sometimes safer/friendlier there. But not always :)

Oh shit yeah. Several times the first week and I managed to annoy a few CH's I came to realize were only trying to help a newbie. Ha! Oh yeah, I was a hot mess when I landed here. Hill didn't prepare me, he got a good chuckle out of it though.

                    hey happy new year, c-o.

And to you too, J. Since IMneverHO, tonight is amateur night, we're home with caviar, lox and boiled shrimp. Feast of the Three Fishes :)

I've been deleted, suspended and even banned so I feel everyone's pain :)

Really? What for, c oliver? I've gotten a couple of what I thought were Righteous Defender posts deleted, but I think many of my fellow chowhounds are better-spoken than me, and can't imagine them getting deleted, especially you.

I'll decline to get off-topic here but, rest assured, it was probably deserved. And, hey, thanks for the compliment. I'm more boring than I used to be but get fewer "Notes from a Moderator." Operative word being "fewer" :)
