Fiore's Slice is Better than Joe's Slice

There, I said it.

Now don't get me wrong, I love a Joe's plain slice and would have starved to death years ago if it were not for Joe's. I have to fight hard against my Pizza Cognition Theory issues to say this but - Fiore's plain slice is better than Joe's plain slice. Just is. Fiore's pepperoni slice makes a mockery of Joe's pepperoni slice - It's practically an insult the the way Joe's haphazardly throws cold industrial strength peppperoni on a plain slice and call it a pepperoni slice. Now, Fiore's wondrous "meat chalice" pepperoni with it's slightly crunchy, appropriately greasy pepperoni is one to take with you to the desert island!

Fiore's has been hiding is plain sight with virtually no mention here or in the pizza yourself a favor and do a 'pepsi challenge' between Joe's and Fiore's...

Fiore's is around the corner from Joe's on Bleecker...

  1. I agree but I don't know if it's the same comparison. Fiore's has got that Staten Island cracker thin texture going on while Joe's is your typical mediocre (for new york anyways) floppy slice. That said, I'm with you all the way on the pepperoni. . . .

I think comparing the two are a valid comparison...For example, you exit a bar in the village with a healthy buzz on and you say to your buddy, "hey, let's get a slice?!" - at that point you and your buddy don't contemplate the geographical lineage of one slice over another - cuz that would be really dorky - you just want the best slice you can get quickly.

    2. I. totally. agree.

My wife and I have been comparing Fiore's outstanding pizza to our other favorite, Lee's Tavern, on Staten Island for a year or so now.

Lee's is outstanding and I think Fiore's has their recipe or something because they pizzas are very similar.

Joe's is old news and the guys behind the counter there couldn't give a crap.

Fiore's is totally the new hotness.

      1. And by the way, will Artichoke please just close already?

        1. I'm slightly weeping as I say it, but yes it's true. Especially the pepperoni.
