BCS Bowl- recs for cocktails

A group of about 12-16 adults will descend upon the area for the BCS Bowl in Pasadena Jan 4-7th (War Eagle!). We are spread throughout the DTLA/Hollywood/Pasadena area but have cars so I'd say any of those locales work
Looking for a trendy/hip place to get fresh, delicious cocktails and apps on Sunday night for the group. Willing to pay for the "trendy/hip" aspect and appetizer cuisine is open as well.

  1. With a group that size the Edison would be one good idea. Just make sure you read their "dress code" requirements on their website.

And speaking of rooftop bars, the one at the Perch not far from the Standard is also very good.
But of course you must want to be in DTLA, which of course you should. The game is not until Monday, so plenty of options exist outside of Pasadena, which is not exactly the headquarters of hipdom!
do go to if a wine tasting might be of interest. They have tastings on both Friday night as well as Saturday afternoon. The crowd is fun, the wine is very good. Definitely not your standard out of town recommendation, but a good one!

      2. Rivera, downtown - excellent cocktails and food. Perch is also an idea.

        1. Are you War Eagles or are you Tigers?

War Eagle is the "battle cry" if u will. Tiger is the official mascot.
            So technically I'm both.
            I'm unequivocally Not a Seminole.

When the screen name is "AlabamaGirl" and she included "(War Eagle!)" as part of her post I'm going to take a WAG and say she's a Crimson Tide fan...(call me Deacon Blues). j/k

I hate the University of Alabama. Thanks tho.

I don't care one way or the other about Bama but I was always a Bear Bryant fan...

                  1. re: Servorg

must have been the hat. who knew bear was a proto-h**ster?

                  Doubt it.
Tis not luck my dear. You musta been on the losing team to call it "luck".
See ya at the Championship bowl!
                  Oh. Wait.....

                  1. re: AlabamaGirl

i don't have a horse in the race...alabama, auburn, same thing to me...but, have a great time and good luck.

you don't think the win over georgia was good fortune?

                    1. re: jessejames

I think that was definitely some good karma. Don't think the whole season was a series of good lucks.

the last play of the alabama game was something i have never seen before either...maybe you are the team of destiny.
