LAX to Anaheim: Any good restaurants between those two points?

  • 4

We are flying in to LAX and taking the 105 to Anaheim for a few days at Disneyland. Before we descend into Disney dining purgatory, we would like at least one decent meal. Since I don't know the LA area and cannot figure out which neighborhoods we will be passing by, it's hard to find anything by searching the boards here. We will be arriving around 7 pm on a Friday evening and renting a car. There are two vegetarians in our group of five and we do not want to spend a fortune (already doing that). Otherwise we are adventurous eaters who just like good food. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Playground Downtown Santa Ana http://playgrounddtsa.com/ would be one option.

      1. Korean in the Artesia or Garden Grove area.

        1. If you like Mexican, the 105 takes you right by Plaza Mexico, where you can get some good, reasonably priced chow at La Huasteca, Guelaguetza, Birreria Jalisco, or El Gallo Giro. The former two are a bit more upscale than the latter two, and probably more vegetarian-friendly too.

If you like Korean, there are lots of places in the Cerritos / Buena Park area near the 91/5 junction. If you're not going for serious BBQ action (might be a hard sell to the vegetarians), then Jangkumyine or Han Yang might be worth a look.

Finally, if you like Indian, and everybody is OK with a vegetarian AYCE meal, then Radjhani's in Artesia's Little India area is very close to your route.

(Little Saigon and downtown Santa Ana, as mentioned previously, both have numerous good options but are a bit south of your route.)
