Good Israeli Kosher Ouzo and also Champagne sourcing in NYC

2 questions:

A family member is going to Israel and I'm looking for a recommendation for a good Kosher ouzo for cooking and drinking?

Also looking for availability of decent Kosher champagne in NYC this season - under $50. What's good on the market this year - and where to find it?

  1. Skyview in Riverdale is well-known for having a comprehensive list of kosher wines. Here is the link (call them for suggestions):

    1. Beacon Wines on 74th and Broadway has a good kosher section and has even made a special order for me before. They might order something for you if you can't find it.

I don't think a special order received today will be able to deliver for tomorrow night assuming that's the intended use of the champagne.

I would add that Gotham on Broadway and 94th has a good kosher wine selection and usually carries champagne as well as the other similar sparkling wines(prosecco, cava, etc...).

      2. Thanks for replies so far. Still hoping for input on good Kosher ouzo or arak sold in Israel! Ottolenghi's Jerusalem cookbook - Roasted Chicken with Clementines and Arak - what do you use?

I've made it with a brand of arak sold in the US, I believe it's from a kosher brand (nothing fancy, certainly) but am not in a position to check which now.
