YYC Mayland Heights lunch spots?

Moving back to Calgary early in the new year (!) and I'll be working near CREB in Mayland Heights - an area I'm not all that familiar with. Any suggestions for hidden gems/good lunch spots (eat in or take away) in the area?

  1. Saigon Deli isn't too far and is simply the best banh mi in the city, cheap, takeout only.
Forbidden city dim sum at Pacific Mall. Food is great, the complainers don't like the type of service that is typical at dim sum restaurants.
Pacific Mall food court has some interesting food choices.
    Kings Restaurant for wonton soup.
Safari Grill is African food, different and good value.

    1. Welcome back!

You're not too far from White Elephant- amazing Thai, but don't even bother going without a reservation (including for lunch).

So I've settled in but haven't had an opportunity to go out for lunch (lots of lunch at my desk)... plateofshrimp Where is White Elephant? and Bill is Saigon Deli the same as Saigon Night(19th St NE and 8th AV)?

No, it is a hole in the wall kind of place, takeout only, but there will always be several customers in the place waiting for their order.

Thanks for the clarification. I went to Saigon Night before moving down, they do a really good vermicelli bowl. Busy place.
