Enjoyable Lunch at Promiscuous Fork--La Jolla

El Chevere Dec 27, 2013 02:41 PM

After passing by this place many times, I finally had an opportunity to stop in for lunch--glad I did. The La Jolla Chicken was excellent and accompanied with coconut infused rice and macaroni salad (a recipe the owner got from Maui). A very good value at only $8 for the plate. My friend was equally pleased with the blackened salmon taco dish. Will definitely be returning.

Interesting menu, I'll have to give their burger a try as a primer to the rest of their menu..

Been meaning to get over there -- long overdue. I'll definitely fix that oversight. Thanks for the reminder!

While the fork may be promiscuous, we must remember that it was the dish that ran away with the spoon.

What a silly name for a restaurant anyway.

Agree that this one goes on the Restaurants with Silly Names list. I certainly hope the name isn't an intentional twist on a similar word...

Haven't been, but sounds like the food is definitely worth checking out.

They have a sandwich named "The Best Fork'n Chicken Sandwich Ever".

And Ipsedixit, I was reminded of that thread as well. I was hoping that chris2269 would chime in, but perhaps La Jolla is out of his region.

Since I am absolutely against Promiscuity I could never eat at a restaurant with said name...or something stupid like that.

Actually your right I'm rarely in La Jolla. Everytime I've been I always run into hellish traffic getting back out. This may be due to my non-familiarity with the right route to take combined with time of day.

There is no right route, which is why I don't go into the village very often even though I live within 5 miles.

I don't get it, you stick your fork in, right?

Great post, no matter what one's opinion of the chow.

They are reportedly opening a second location in The Point, a mixed housing/commercial space currently in construction on Crown Point.

Is it the place next door to the S---- and Giggles Sports Bar?

San Diego does restaurant names like few can.
