Looking for an adult-friendly place to have a child's birthday party...

Hi all,

I'm hoping you can help me here. My daughter will be 3 in March and I want to have a birthday party for her and 3 or 4 of her daycare buddies, plus 5-8 adults.

Ideally something like Gatti's Pizza from the US (I haven't seen one here) or a nicer version of Chuck E Cheese... something licensed to serve alcohol would be ideal (but not a deal-breaker) and with a playground for the kiddos. Does such a wonderful place exist???

We're in the east end of Toronto, so I'd like to keep it in the city - driving all the way to Vaughn, Mississauga, etc. are not possible.

Thanks in advance, Chow-experts!!

  1. Lil Bean and Green on Queen East is a great little cafe with a play area, however I don't think it is licensed and they serve snacks but it is not a restaurant. Maybe The Old Spaghetti Factory? no playground but kids seem to love it...

    1. You could go to Oaks n Acorns on Danforth west of Woodbine. No liquor license, but you can bring your own food. There are usually plenty of seats and tables available. You could pick up a pizza on the way, from Danforth Pizza, a Chowhound favourite. If you go with Lil Bean n Green, you have to order their food, and, sorry to say, but while their food may be fine for little ones, it has never appealed to me. I live in the east end and also have a three year old. Can't say I know of anything else that fits your purposes.

      1. How about Marche at Brookfield Place. There's a little kids area for them to colour and run around. It's cafeteria style with lots of food stations but at least there's something for everyone including alcohol!
