Where To Buy Live Maine Lobsters in DC/MD/VA in 2013/2014?

Yes, it's December 27, 2013, and I am hoping to pick up live Maine lobsters for New Year's Eve. SimplyLobsters.com won't work this year, because they don't deliver on Sunday or Monday. Dean and DeLuca in Georgetown no longer has a seafood department and said they can't help. Whole Foods only sells cooked Maine lobster tails. Not interested in an Asian food market, as it sure would be swell if those lobsters were to come from Maine waters. -- Does anyone have any other ideas?

    Balduccis or Maine Ave.

There's a guy who trucks them down from Maine and sells them at the intersection of Rt. 50 and Rt. 15 (aka Gilbert's Corner) in Loudoun County. Sorry, I don't know the name of his business. Good luck!

Enjoy - And when you ARE ready to venture to H-Mart, you'll find them as cheap as $5.99 a pound....

Never had a bad lobster from H Mart, but they usually are only male.

Giant, $11/pound today. You should order them today and pick up on Tuesday; cold stored won't be so goo.

Going to drop by the new Giant in Shaw to see what you're referring to. (Was there a specific DC/MD/VA Giant that offered live Maine lobsters?) -- Thanks for thinking of me, in any case!

Do they have them in Shaw? They carry lobsters all the time at my local one.

Check out Lobster Day.com. You might be to late, as you have to place your order ahead of time. But there might be a last minute opportunity.

I have the same question. I live in East Falls Church. Some people have mentioned Lobsterday. Finestkind, and Salt River. I've never patronized any of them. I might try the asian market in the Eden Center.

I don't now how much the Vietnamese are into lobster. You might do better at a more pan-Asian store like Grand Mart at 7 Corners (smells better than it used to) or H-Mart (I think it's an H-Mart) in the shopping center at Gallows Road and Lee Highway, the one with the Office Depot. But that's just a guess based on never having shopped for lobsters at any of them.

With all the suggestions, though, it just doesn't seem to be all that much of a problem. In a pinch (no pun intended) you might even be able to buy a couple of uncooked ones from the tank at a restaurant that cooks them - Full Kee at Bailey's Crossroads or XO Taste in Willston.
