Sate Grill - opinions?

Our sad little cafeteria this side of no man's land Charlestown will be replaced by Sate Grill as of January 20. I applaud the landlord for wanting to go fancy, but considering we share this space with The Ride and therefore share the caf with a bunch of elderly visitors, I envision much consternation once it opens.

I was never a fan of Momogoose, so I can't say I'm thrilled by this news. Anyone have experiences to share and shed light on whether I should bring my lunch for the rest of my working days here? Search didn't find any hits.

  1. Where is this? I am assuming you mean close to the Holiday Inn near East Somerville? That former Brazilian cafe?

It's going to go inside the Hood Business Park building, on Rutherford Ave.

    2. Doesn't look particularly special, but this may immediately become the best food available in Charlestown. Low bar, so I'm interested.

They have beta site to serve the few offices here who now have no food options in the building, with free delivery. They charge $8 for a banh mi. Serious? If this is anything close to the atrocious banh mi I had when they first started serving them, that thing isn't worth 8 cents. I'm not impressed so far.

      2. And the office park location bites the dust. Got a quick notice, per the office management company on Wednesday, that Sate Grill in the Hood Business Park is no more. Never really got off the ground, even with lowering the prices a bit. The food wasn't terrible, but definitely not special. They stuck with a small menu, and the complaint I heard most from the office folks is that it's hard to have (mediocre) pho or rice bowl every single day. For us on that side of Rutherford, the office park caf is pretty much the only food option, so back to bringing lunch or ordering delivery for now.
