Party/banquet room in Berkeley

Does anyone know of a good spot, preferably walking distance from the campus, to host a casual graduation party? My son just finished at Cal and I'd like to host a celebration for about 20 in a private or semi-private room at a restaurant (or perhaps a bar that would allow us to bring food in). I'm picturing drinks and "heavy" appetizers; either American or ethnic cuisine like Indian, Mexican, or Chinese... Thanks for any help!

Comal has a downstairs room that seats 20 or so.

East Bay Spice Co. has a loft at the back where they seat groups.

China Village's remodelling included a separate banquet room in the back.

Is it really that separate? Long way from UC as well.

Not walking distance from UC, true. But China Village does host UC faculty and grad student events, so perhaps close enough. The separate banquet room used to be a storage space and is walled off from the back dining room. It's the large photo on the website with the flat screen TV.
