Bubble Tea in Beantown

veggiedoc Dec 19, 2013 05:02 PM

I'm a sucker for bubble tea (get it?) and was super excited to try kung fu tea in allston, but wasn't a huge fan. I thought the boba itself was great but the tea was just alright, not powdery or anything but just not stellar. I will give it a few more tries since I always find myself walking by, but I'm wondering if anyone has any bubble tea go-tos that are not just an afterthought at a restaurant. Those end up being pricey and too disappointing to even write about. It's been a while since this was covered, wanted to see if anyone had thoughts.

I only went once, but I thought Boston Tea Stop (in Harvard Square) was pretty good. So that is probably worth a try.

My old favorite place was Infusions Tea Spa in Allston, but it's been a while since my last visit and when I last went, I think the boba was a little overcooked. But it's also worth a try.

I'm curious to hear how you think these two places compare to Kung Fu Tea (which I haven't tried).

great taste bakery is my favorite. They do use some powders, depending on what flavor you get.
