Foodie places with a well-behaved 5 year old?

We will be in Portland December 27 and 28. I am trying to think of some places that have fun atmospheres to go with my sister and her daughter who will be visiting from Vancouver BC. Two ideas that I have come up with are Salt & Straw and Firehouse. Any other ideas?

Our five-year-old niece loved the shuffleboard at Sunshine Tavern, though we were less impressed with the food.

Grain and Gristle was universally enjoyed (no shuffleboard though!).

Thanks so much for these two suggestions! These places look and sound wonderful as well. Many thanks!

And BTW we really enjoyed Firehouse as well, though we did not have the young un in tow that time. I'm sure your small would like it: heck, it's in an old firehouse! With a big, crazy wood burning oven! What's not to like?

It's also right across from a decent brewery, Breakside, which may allow kiddies -- it's kind of a pub/bistro, in case you wanted to sample a brew before/after.

Forgot Grilled Cheese Grill on Alberta - makes everybody feel like they are 5 again

Nostrana (who doesn't like Pizza) Very lively. Pacific Pie Co., Pine State Biscuits, Double Dragon, Roman Candle all good if not great, casual, lively

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I looked at the websites for all of the places that you recommended and they look perfect! I particularly love the grilled cheese place that is on a school bus. Many thanks!
