sausage/german fare in Austin

shan Nov 9, 2005 09:43 PM

A friend from Germany is coming into Austin (he lives in Florida now) and is really excited about the German sausage in the area. He's here on a business trip Friday-Sunday so I can't really go outside of Austin given the constraints of the trip.

However, where are some of the best places to get sausage in the city? If we have time, I'd also like to take him to a good German place too if there are any really excellent ones.

If you have to stay in town, Scholtz's is the only place I can think of that serves a German menu(and bbq). It's on San Jacinto St.

Not in town exactly, but my husband tells me Elgin is too far for the meets they have scheduled.
