Christmas Eve in Chinatown

MsAlyp Dec 17, 2013 09:19 PM

Hi All,
Trying to find a fun, delicious place in Chinatown for a group (including Mom and friends) for Christmas Eve. I have my various Chinese places I like across the city but no current favorites in Chinatown. I have been looking at yelp and found based on those ratings:

Amazing 66
Hop Lee
Big Wong
Shanghai Asian Manor

I have been to Amazing 66 but none of the others. That said I don't need a place with "real tablecloths" like at 66. I'm looking for a more loud/ fun/ people watching crowd.

Does anyone have any suggestions? We love spicy and seafood but would love just a great spot for a fun Christmas Eve cheap meal :)

Thank you!!!

Scoop's list is awesome, but not all are good for Christmas Eve. Cafe Hong Kong is not good for large groups, unless there is a private room I haven't seen. 456 and Shanghai Deluxe Cafe will be zoos and might make you feel rushed. Fuleen might be fun. I often go to Congee Village for Christmas Eve, it is festive, huge, has a big menu, and even takes reservations (in English, more or less) on the phone! And killer lichee martinis (one of the few with a complete bar). even though the food is not spicy, it would be my choice. In fact, I will be there.....

Generally, seafood and cheap are not normally conducive to a good meal.... you need to consider an older staple.....maybe someplace like Royal Seafood or Congee Village.

From experience I can say that OG is very hard to get into on Christmas Eve. But a good choice if you can.
