Croquembouche San Fernando Valley

laleego Dec 17, 2013 02:12 PM

Is there a bakery in the Valley that does croquembouche? It's a New Year's Eve tradition for us, but because the holiday falls in the middle of the week, I don't have time to make it myself.

You will probably need to come over the hill into Santa Monica to Caprice Fine French Pastries http://capricefrenchpastries.com/

      Check Delicious Bakery in Northridge.

With all due respect, do not waste your time checking Delicious Bakery in Northridge.

I would call Avignon French Bakery in Tarzana. At least they will have heard of a croquembouche. They make cream puffs, and a croquembouche is just a pile of cream puffs held together with caramelized sugar, so maybe you can special order one.

You might want to try Le Pain Quotidienne or Belwood Bakery in Studio City; they may make for the holidays (but don't know). Not in valley, Paris Bakery in Westwood is an easy drive from Sherman Oaks.

We have purchased them for Christmas at Pastries by Edie. I've never hade homemade to compare with, but in general, their pastries and cakes are very good.
