I am not in the market at this point for a stand mixer. I only need a hand mixer to whip egg whites or whip cream. But I hate the tedium of mixing for 10-15 minutes, not to mention I could be doing something else.
I know that there are compromise products - hand mixers that fit into a stand. In fact I had one (the Cuisinart) that had a ridiculous design flaw, so I returned it.
Does anyone have experience with a hand/stand mixer that is good?
If this issue has been discussed, please advise.
The immersion blender gets the job done a lot faster than the hand mixer. Whipped cream in 30 seconds. I know you would prefer hands free, but it's fast.
Since I can't edit my original post, let me add this:
I have an immersion blender. I do not need to be told to use one. I do not need to be told to use a whisk, an egg-beater, or whatever. I specifically stated that I want my hands free.
I just want to know if anyone in the Chowhound community has used a hand/stand mixer, and what their experience with this appliance is.
