Hi Hounds;

I have an event tonight on La Brea and 6th, not far from LACMA, and need a dinner recommendation. I will have my two teen aged kids with me, including my daughter, the vegetarian killjoy (no meat or fish). So Korean is probably out. Thanks.

  1. I really like Golden State (my favorite burger in the city) on Fairfax and they do have some veggie items too.

    also the new Plan Check opened just a few door down from Golden State.

    Mendocino Farms on Fairfax

    Joan's on 3rd is open till 8pm

    You could also do the Original Farmer's Market at 3rd and Fairfax and everyone can get something different but still all eat together, There is also a Veggie Grill at the Market,

      fwiw, if i were to get veggie food at the Original Farmer's Market, i'd go with Moishe's over the Veggie Grill.

    2. I recently moved to the mid-city area. I'm excited about a Plan Check close by. The kids would like that, too. Red Medicine is always fun and good. But don't know how busy it would be on a Saturday...though they usually don't get crowded until later. Ray's at LACMA is supposed to be pretty good. Luna Park is ok. I like the Farmers Market, but it's awfully close to Christmas. It might be packed. There's a Mendocino Farms across the street though.

        Red Medicine not for a lot of adults. I don't see kids enjoying the food or atmosphere. I can easily see staff being dicks to you.

        1. If it were my choice I'd definitely go to Joan's on 3rd.

          There's something for everyone, in a refrigerated case for your kids to see, and the roasted chicken (if they have any today) is probably my favorite in the city. Lots of outstanding vegetable choices (great roasted veggies) so your daughter will like it. You'll order at the counter, they give you a number.
          It's communal seating, for the most part, and the service is great.

          1. "....the vegetarian killjoy" thanks giving me a good chuckle.
