Providence in Pictures

Ran out of uni tonight so they made the ugly bunch with king crab and we asked for the soft scrambled eggs with white truffles.

              To me the fish and the pasta look great. Others mushy red medicinal. But I know you love that. Nice vino.

                If you consider abalone and geoduck "mushy"...it's really your loss for missing out on the Ugly Bunch ;-(

                    It's a thin layer of smoked panna cotta. Really adds to the dish.

                John, as dumb luck would have it and thanks to the sommelier's amazing thoughtfulness he gave us pours of (left to right):

                1961 DRC Echezeaux, 1953 Mouton, 1975 d'Yquem, 2010 Leroy Corton, 2010 Chave Hermitage blanc, 2006 Pierre Morey Meursault Charmes, 2004 Leflaive Pucelles.

                I brought the Leflaive and bought the Pierre Morey. The others were from a party in the private room.

                Also walked away with some 2010 Dujac Bonnes Mares that was on the list for much less than current retail.

                    How much did those 1950s and 70s pours add to the tab and how much was the rest of the fiscal damages for the meal ???????

                2. I had that scallop/nasturtium leaf amuse last month. Probably one of the best snacks they have ever come up with.

                    Nasturtium "taco". Very appropriate to Providence and LA.
