Jujube in Chapel Hill. Any experience?
Looks interesting. Has anyone been? What did you think?
It has been ages since I've been there, but my last few visits were not very exciting. Lulu went once and refused to go again (and Lulu likes Asian food very much). For a while they were doing this weird thing where they had an Asian fusion menu but an Italian cook who'd prepare Italian specials. Just didn't work, somehow. Be interested to hear any more recent experiences.
I haven't been in the last year or so, but they make a great bahn mi. At the time, I proclaimed it to be the best in Chapel Hill. It's certainly worth a try.
We have had very good regular dinners at Jujube and several fantastic wine dinners - the most recent one a South African wine dinner.
How odd - thought I had posted here...
I went once several years ago - a Grouponish offer reminded me that I had heard good things about the place.
My dining partner and I were quite happy with the experience. I do remember the vegetarian entree was really amazingly delicious. We both felt we would be happy to return. I have not done so largely since it is a hike from my usual stomping grounds and my wallet has been a bit lean...
Give them a try. It would be nice to get a recent take on the place!
Are we allowed to talk about this place again? I have always enjoyed this restaurant though I haven't been there in quite some time. I am not sure whether detlefchef is still active in the kitchen but he did some great things when he was focused exclusively on this restaurant.
