Salmon macaroni salad from simplyrecipes. Can I substitute crab instead?

Hi I tried to email the creator of this recipe in time for a get-together this weekend but I fear I will not receive an answer in time.

I'm curious what you guys think of me removing the canned salmon in this recipe, http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/..., and using canned dungeness crab instead?

I'm curious if you would recommend adding/subtracting the amount of crab used or if I should change any other ingredients to suit the crab vs the salmon?

I greatly greatly appreciate your help with this! Looking forward to a recipe success at the party!

    You could probably sub 1:1

Removing canned salmon is always a good idea. Use an equal amount of canned crab.

We eat a lot of canned salmon and really like it. Canned crab tastes like the can to me.

I also really like canned salmon, not so much canned crab

I would probably use tarragon instead of dill, but otherwise, a one-to-one sub of crab for salmon will be great.

Good call on the taragon- dill and crab could be a little odd...

I think you will have better results with fresh cold-packed crab, but otherwise, yes, agree with the others: sub 1:1 and perhaps swap out the dill for tarragon or parsley.
