[DFW] Ifs Ands & Butts?

In a recent visit to Dallas's premier soda shop, Ifs Ands & Butts, there was a sign in the window indicating it has been closed temporarily due to a medical emergency (presumably to owner Hamilton Rousseau).

Best wishes to Mr. Rousseau for a speedy recovery. Dallas needs him and his shop.

I was in the 'hood Saturday night and I believe the sign was down.

The "Temporarily Closed" sign has now been replaced with a "Permanently Closed" sign.

Ifs Ands & Butts is no more.

Walking by the old Ifs Ands & Butts location, I saw a couple of signs up advertising the June opening of the Soda Gallery--presumably another soda shop. Can't seem to find a web site for them. But, in looking, I came across a recent DBJ article mentioning their lease, as well a second location of Cafe Madrid set to open next door to Veracruz Cafe. Interesting news.

The Soda Gallery (in the location formerly occupied by Ifs Ands & Butts) is scheduled for a grand opening on Saturday, July 29th, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3 PM.
