Driving home for Christmas [lunch in Ithaca/Corning?]

emq Dec 10, 2013 09:02 AM

I am a transplanted New Yorker who is driving home for Christmas. I will be traveling with my husband and three adult kids and we are looking forward to a nice lunch about half way, maybe Ithaca/Corning. Does anyone have suggestions for a good foodie spot in this area?

Not sure if Binghamton is too distant from "Ithaca/Corning", but if not, the Lost Dog Cafe (lostdogcafe.net) is a fun place.

What day of the week are you traveling?

My son goes to school in Ithaca and we had a very nice lunch at Simeon's on the commons. I had a terrific terrific burger with 3 kinds of meat, one being short ribs and freshly made French fries. My son had a portobello mushroom sandwich and my husband had a lobster roll. Very pleasant service . We ate in the back room. I thought it was totally enjoyable. Very reasonably priced also. At least for lunch .
