Christmas dinner in Reno

Hi all, I am hoping for some inspiration for Christmas dinner. We just moved here a month ago, staying in temporary housing waiting for our house to be finished. Two of my kids are coming up from San Diego for Christmas and I'm not sure where to go for Christmas dinner.

For Thanksgiving, we did the Elements buffet at the Grand Sierra which was quite good and not crowded. For Christmas dinner, I would rather do something else. I am looking for something that can please a picky eater and something that won't break the bank a la Charlie Palmer's.

If anyone has any great ideas, I would love to hear them. TIA

  1. Whew. In a lot of cities that's going to be a challenge. A google showed all the usual casino suspects. Chinese restaurants in big cities are known to be open on Christmas. Not sure about Reno. I love Cafe 168 on S. Virginia.

Worst case, pick up something the day before and reheat.
PS: My email is in my profile. Let me know if you want to get together some time.

Yeah I'm sure we will end up in a casino and probably a buffet again. It's fine really. They are certainly affordable and please my picky eaters and my one son who is a huge eater. I was just hoping to not have to serve myself lol. Let's try to get together after the holidays.

I've heard some pretty good things about Hussongs in the Silver Legacy (I actually have a Groupon) but with a HUGE eater, it's hard to go wrong with a buffet.

We're traveling quite a bit over the next few months but let's stay in touch.
