A local chef recently posted on his facebook that he was going to LA this past weekend to film for this show

If you don't like it, don't watch it.

Yeah, but what if you really want something to aggravate you and you really need something to complain about? There are some folks on Chowhound with that particular set of needs...

I thought that was why they kept giving Rachael Ray new shows....

sorry... just thought it was funny and a little crass, not like a crucifiction...

You have to understand that there are, in general, 2 types of people on this board (and in life for that matter). Those who complain about Guy/Rachel/Tony/Paula/etc and those who are fed up with it.

My dad falls into this former category. If you don't like something and it makes you constantly complain, change the GD channel.

C'mon, where's the fun in that? It's the foodie equivalent of some epic feat. You've made it through the experience, now it's time to let the stories and snark fly!

Think of all the truly great drinking games that would be lost forever if this advice was followed by all.

Really, how am I supposed to aggravate my peptic ulcer if I change the channel?!

I think you misunderstand, I like the concept... just not the product placement. Same thing drives me crazy about Top Chef.

Frankly I think this show is the ideal vehicle for Guy. It matches his energy level and personality to a tee. Guy needs elbow room to move and bounce around. TV kitchen spaces are too tight for him. Plus, his fans are use to seeing him in live arenas. I caught his stage act at a local college and it was a game show in the making then.

One thing is always true in every human endeavor: There is always a 'Lowest Common Denominator'. FN found 'Susie' and Susie found GF and he found his 'fan base' thus proving the adage.
When will he turn up at your local 'Home Show' demonstrating 'Sham-Wows'?

Wait - then what would the Sham-Wow fella do?

Talk 'Susie' at FN into giving him a 'reality show' of course. Wouldn't be too hard.
'Sham-Wow' Goes To The CIA'. Thirteen episodes of him making funny faces behind the instructors back. Each episode he brings along a 'once famous Chef' and they yuck it up pretending to have stabbed the other in the hand.
First guest Chef: Paula Deen in 'black-face'.

It's so-so... Dh doesn't really like it because it's not showy enough, but I think it's okay. The only annoying thing for me is the mad dash to win the grand prize - the poor sap has already worked their rear end off to win the three round contest, and they have to go through another gauntlet to actually get any money! I feel really sorry for the ones who don't get much...

I've only seen it to the end once, and she got all the items. It didn't seem that hard if you spend any amount of time in grocery stores. Do many people stink at that last phase?

I saw one where they got flustered and didn't even get half... it just doesn't seem fair to me!

Is this the show that Blais was judging last night?
