A posting to the 2012 edition of this thread shamed me into realizing I was late to the 2013 version, so what's new or changed out there folks?

  1. I didn't see a November 2013 post, so some of these may be repeats, but here goes:

Blind Tailor Caffe opened in downcity. It's a lunch/coffee spot, although I think it's open after-dinner hours as well. It looks cute, but I haven't had an opportunity to stop by yet.
    45 Weybosset St
    Providence, RI 02903

Rogue Island Kitchen and Bar has been under construction in the Providence Arcade for months. Looks like a hyper-local restaurant concept, lots of local beers and possibly spirits, food sourced locally.
    65 Weybosett Street
    Providence, RI 02903

New Harvest Coffee Roasters has opened a new café and bar, also inside the Arcade. A really lovely spot for excellent local coffee, and it usually seems pretty lively.
    130 Westminster St
    Suite 118
    Providence, RI 02903

Table opened in Barrington. Pastries and breads by Pain d'Avignon, coffee by Illy, quite nice breakfast and lunch (soon to add dinner and brunch) in a tiny but pleasant environment. Not sure it's worth a drive, but for those of us in East Bay, a welcome addition.
    8 Anoka Avenue
    Barrington, RI 02806

Rasa opened in East Greenwich. It's the latest Indian offering from the folks behind Rasoi and Kabob and Curry. Haven't been yet, but I have no doubt that this place will be good. I still have my old, heavily stained Sanjiv Dhar cookbook from back in the day, and the recipes still knock me out--this man puts out good food.

    East Greenwich, RI 02818

No sign yet of Rosalina, the Italian place going into the old downcity Cuban Revolution location. Poking around on
their facebook page has been quite interesting, however. It looks like they'll be serving (hopefully) well-executed, relatively traditional Italian dishes.

    1. Flatbread co opened on Cushing st off Thayer a couple days ago.
Whilst driving to the newly renovated chilangos we noticed that Toro has opened in the old Blush spot on the hill.

Heard through the grapevine that a restaurant will be opening in the new G building downtown on Dorrance. Possibly called G Pub. Not sure the timeframe as the building is still under construction. May spell the end of the ailing Congress Tavern

Evidently, there will be several eateries in the Providence G building. The bar and grille on the ground floor, a cafe, and a rooftop restaurant/lounge, supposedly glassed-in for 12-month views. Sounds interesting, at least. Is Congress faring poorly? I haven't been in a few months. It always seemed fine and fairly busy, though nothing too exciting.

      2. Tazza cafe on Westminster Street is closing tomorrow (Tuesday).
