Michael Mina to open Bourbon Steak & Pub at Levi's Stadium [Santa Clara]

  • 1

Official Michael Mina group description of the concept:

"A unique evolution of Michael Mina’s acclaimed steakhouse brand where modern American steakhouse meets reinvented classic pubfare. The first of its kind, BOURBON STEAK & PUB will cater to both a high-end dining experience as well asa more relaxed pub setting.

At BOURBON STEAK, the menu will feature creative interpretations of traditional steakhouse items utilizing the highest quality ingredients including dry-aged Brandt Farms steaks, the freshest local seafood and innovative vegetable sides from well-known South Bay farms. In Mina’s signature style, all meats are poached prior to grilling – red meats in butter, lamb in olive oil and pork in bacon fat – to deliver mouthwatering tenderness.

The more casual counterpart, BOURBON PUB, offers a laidback, relaxed vibe prime for fun. Open for lunch and dinner, BOURBON PUB will offer innovative twists on classic pub items such as the Wagyu Dog and Peanut Butter Crunch Burger, alongside a lively cocktail program all in the comfort of a casual pub setting, great for grabbing a quick bite to eat or gathering to watch a sporting event on one of the PUB’s 70 HDTVs."

The restaurant will be open year-round and will have an exclusive "tailgate" for season ticket holders during games:

Also looks like the 49ers are going to be pushing for better food while still retaining classic stadium items:

"CEO Jed York has talked about a "farm-to-table" stadium menu that includes all-beef organic hot dogs and seasonal, local vegetables and fish.

Of course, the classic football stadium food and drink will be available -- Bud Light has already signed on as a major corporate sponsor."

  1. This location will be an interesting challenge. Traci Des Jardins used to have a steakhouse at AT&T Park called Acme and it didn't last even though the Giants play 81 regular season home games a year and many people live within easy walking distance from the ballpark. Levi's stadium will host 8 regular season 49ers games per year in an area where I doubt a lot of people live within easy walking distance from the stadium. I've been to that area many times during the day and gotten the impression that it's not particularly vibrant at night. Will be interesting to see how that works out.
